NOTICE OF RACE

E  U  R  O  P  E      &      4  2  0      C  L  A  S  S

SPANISH CUP (EUROPE CLASS)

The International Grand Prix Vila de Blanes will be heald in the bay of Blanes from the 2nd of January to the 5th of January 2008. It will be organized by the Club Vela Blanes, RFEV and the FCV.

 

1. RULES

1.1 The regatta will be governed by “Rules” as defined in the ISAF 2005/2008 (RRS) Racing Rules.

1.2 Appendix P will be applied.

1.3 Protests could be resolved by mediation previous to the Protest Committee.

1.4 Use of personal life – guard be required.

1.5 In case of differences between the Notice of the Race and the Sailing Instructions the Sailing Instructions will be used.

 

2. ADVERTISING

2.1 The International Grand Prix Vila de Blanes is classified category C, in accordance to the ISAF Regulation 20-advertising code.

2.2 Boats may be required to display on each side of the hull:

- Advertising of the event sponsor.

 

3. CLASSES

3.1 The International Grand Prix Vila de Blanes is reserved for 420 class and Europe class.

3.2 Only the person registered as skipper will be allowed to skipper. No changes will be allowed.

 

4. ELIGIBILITY

4.1 The ISAF competitors eligibility code (ISAF Regulation 19) shall apply.

4.2 Each competitor shall be member of his National Class Association and, if relevant, of his National Authority.

4.3 The RFEV authorises the participation of foreign crews, however they cannot competefor the title of Spanish Cup Champion.

 

 

5. REGISTRATION

5.1 Preinscriptions:

5.1.1 The preinscriptions must be sent by 28th of  December 2008:

5.1.2 Regatta Fees are 60 € for 420’s and 40€ for Europe.

Entry Fees shall be paid in euros to Club Vela Blanes: 0049 1573 58 2910013189 Banco Santander Central Hispano.

5.1.3 The organising committee reserves the right to accept inscriptions after the 28th of  December.

5.1.4 It is required to present a copy of your bank transfers with the Regatta Registration Form.

 

5.2 Confirmation of Registration

5.2.1 Registration will be take place in Regatta Office.

5.2.2 Each skipper must personally sign the Registration Form before 13:00 h 2nd  January 2009.

5.2.3 The following documents are needed:

  • Federation Licence valid for 2009 (skipper and crew).
  • National Class Membership (skipper and crew).
  • DNI or Passport.
  • For foreign sailors: Civil Insurance coverage up to a minimum of 700.000 euros.

5.2.4 Measurements. The document control of measurement (for the Class Europe) will have to be  signed by the measurer and will have to be delivered in the Race Office.

 

5.3 No skipper changes are allowed.

6.2 On the last day of competition no starting sequence will given after 14:00, with the exception of a General Recall of a race in progress.

 

7. EVENTS FORMAT

7.1 The Regatta will use the fleet system and 10 races are scheduled, of which 2 must be completed for the Race to be valid.

 

8. SCORING

8.1 The low point scoring system of Appendix A shall apply (RRS Appendix A).

 

9. PRIZES

9.1 There will be prizes for the first three boats in each class and the list will be hung on the TOA before 12 am of the 2nd of January.

9.2 It will be prices for the first, the second and the third of each class and the list of Prizes will be post on the TOA before the 2nd of January at 12:00 h.

9.3 The Internacional Grand Prix Vila de Blanes is a Regatta for the Europe Class Nacional Spanish team 2009 .

 

10. DISCLAIMER

10.1 Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk. See rule 4, Decision to race.

10.2 The organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or sudden death in conjunction with or prior to, during, or after the regatta.
